Wyvern Tailoring was born out of a love for two very different things, classic English tailoring and alpacas.
My exposure to the first was with the military and after trying on a garment that was cut and fitted to me I was hooked. Ten subsequent years of working in London allowed me to indulge in some of the finest English craftsmanship Saville Row and Jermyn Street had to offer.
The challenge came from being able to produce a cloth that was 100% alpaca as many alpaca products are blended with other fibres like sheeps wool to add tensile strength. We scoured the UK to find a mill that could work with us to process our fibre in the exact way we wanted, blending natural colours and achieving strength of fibre we needed without losing the silky soft feel.
Finding a talented young tweed designer and experienced weaver meant we were able to produce the unique and beautiful cloths we have today.
When we came across one of the last suit making workshops in the UK who hand cut and stitch every garment with unparalleled attention to detail we knew we had found the final piece of the puzzle.
The result is a unique luxury garment from animals we’ve raised and shaped by the most skilled craftsmen the UK has to offer.
